Warren Trip

Well it was a great week in Pennsylvania!
Lots of fun, lots of relaxation, but surprisingly not lots of snow!

The trip started with a haircut

And involved several trips to Tim Horton's

There was also a whirlwind trip to Toronto to see these jokers. It was pretty fun!

And I couldn't see the grandfather without making at least one pie!

There was also some other food involved : )

All in all, it was a great trip. It's hard to say when I'll be back down that way, so I'm glad that I was able to spend some time there now.

(Prayer Request: I'm currently in the application process for a job this summer. I'd be working as a cook, and think this job could be an amazing opportunity to work during the summers and spend the rest of the year in Cochabamba. Please pray that if this job is what God has in store for me, that my application would stand out and that I will be offered the position! Thanks!

On the Road Again

So apparently I thought it was that time again, time for me to hop on a plane and travel across the country!
So yesterday, I did just that!

I'm so happy to be staying at my Grandpa's house in Warren PA!

Kaley LakPointe

Hello Internet,

So have I ever told you about the time that I was featured on the cover of the Opinion section of the Grand Haven Tribune of Grand Haven Michigan? No, you say?? Well here it is:

Just in case you could't read that caption, here it is larger:

Yup. It reads "Volunteer Kaley LakPointe, chats with one of the orphan children that she is fond of in Haiti"

That's me. Kaley LakPointe, just being fond of orphans in Haiti.

I planning to start blogging more about my everyday life, so look forward to that!

No School (Part2)

Things could get a little stir-crazy in the house when the 14 kids and the tias were basically stranded due to blockades. So one day, we got creative!
Let the competition begin!

Very Excited!

It's always fun when the tias get involved!

Nothing like a good conga line!

They didn't quite get the concept of Limbo!

So much fun!!!!!!

Busted at Bathtime...

What's worse, having the Tia discover that you had covered yourself head to toe in pink marker, or having to wait while she gets her camera????

Boys Night In!

So a few weekends ago, I had a first time experience, an ALL boys night!! And we did not let this opportunity go to waste:

The night started with a bonfire in the backyard.

Everything we could find that was made of wood was burnt, though we tried burning more things then just wood....

We spent HOURS doing this...

and this...

Not sure what that thing was, but it burnt really well!

Activity #2, build a fort downstairs using the dining room tables and ALL the blankets!

We then watched a movie while in the tent, however, we got a little sleepy and had to finish in the morning:

On top of the table still not finished:

It was a great night that I loved spending with my boys!
After a few calculations, I realized today that in exactly 14 days I'll be on a plane heading for Miami.
I have no idea how I'm going to leave these 12 kids that have become my life over the past 9 months.

Please pray for me over the next two weeks as I prepare myself to come home (which I really AM excited for!) and as I take care of all my last minute plans and everything!

Thanks!

Kaley
